Finding Our Topsfield Office

We are in Old Boston Street Office Park, set back from Route 1 on the western side. There is no Brigantine Law sign at the road, so here is exactly what to look for.

Site plan of 458 Boston Street, Topsfield. The building stands on the west side of Route 1 behind a lawn, which carries a red sign reading Old Boston Street Office Park and listing numbers 458, 460 and 462. Two driveways lead in from Route 1: one at the north end of the park, and a nearer one running between buildings 462 and 458. Parking runs along the north, rear and south sides of the building, with the main shared car park at the rear. The front entrance faces Route 1 and the rear entrance opens straight off the car park.

  • Turn in by the red sign. A red sign on the lawn reads "Old Boston Street Office Park" and lists 458, 460 and 462. The nearer driveway is just north of it, running between buildings 462 and 458.
  • We are number 458. Three buildings share the park. Ours is the two storey red brick one, with the number on the brick above the front door.
  • Park at the rear. The main car park is behind the building, and parking also runs along both sides. The lawn side facing Route 1 has no parking.
  • Come in the back door. The rear entrance opens straight off the car park and is the quickest way up to us. Signs inside point the way, and we are Second Floor, number 6 on the tenant board.
  • The second floor is reached by stairs, and there is no lift. If stairs are difficult for you, say so when you book and we will arrange a ground floor meeting room.

Look for this red sign on the lawn. It is the only marker at the road.

The rear entrance of 458 Boston Street, reached from the car park, with a paved path leading to glass doors below a tall stairwell window.

Common Questions

A few things clients often ask before their first consultation.

How does the initial consultation work?
The initial consultation runs one hour, at a flat fee of $250. The fee is confirmed when you book, and we will tell you in advance if anything about your situation would change it. Contacting the firm or booking a consultation does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential details until we have asked you for them. It's an opportunity for us to understand your situation and for you to evaluate whether we're the right fit, with no pressure and no obligation to retain our services afterward.
How much does a divorce cost in Massachusetts?
The cost depends significantly on the process chosen. A collaborative or uncontested divorce is typically far less expensive than a contested court proceeding. During your consultation, we will discuss the options honestly, including what each path typically costs, so you can make an informed decision before committing to anything.
Do I need a trust or just a will?
It depends on your assets, your family situation, and your goals. A will is simpler and less expensive to prepare, but it passes through probate: a public, court-supervised process that takes time. A revocable living trust avoids probate entirely, keeps your affairs private, and takes effect immediately if you become incapacitated. Many clients benefit from having both. We will walk you through the comparison clearly at your consultation.
How long does a guardianship petition take in Massachusetts?
A standard guardianship through Essex and Middlesex County Probate and Family Courts typically takes 4–8 weeks from filing to hearing, depending on court scheduling and whether the matter is contested. In urgent situations, we can file for emergency temporary guardianship, which can be granted much faster, sometimes within days, to protect a vulnerable individual immediately.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes. We offer consultations by video (Zoom) and phone for clients who prefer not to come in. In-person meetings are available at our Topsfield office at 458 Boston Street (Route 1), and by appointment at our Gloucester and North Andover offices. Select your preference when scheduling and we will send the appropriate invite.
